Meet David Spirnak, Our Founder
David began his career in the trades at age 16 with Reitz Engineering and Surveying, where he mastered boundary surveys, construction staking, and site planning.
He later transitioned into hardscape landscaping, spending over 15 years designing and installing patios, retaining walls, and various concrete features. Following this, David joined the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18, where he operated heavy machinery for top Cleveland firms on projects ranging from site clearing and foundations to utility trenching and demolition.
With over 30 years of comprehensive construction experience, David launched 1860 Excavating for commercial projects and 1860 Builders for residential improvements. He has assembled a team of longtime industry experts dedicated to delivering high-quality, dependable results for every client.
